John Marsden has become renowned as a writer and an advocate for successful learning experiences for young people.

........... will write a letter to him saying what he has gained from the novel, suggesting changes to keep it relevant to 2010 and beyond.

To Mr John Marsden,

It is hard for me to judge on your book because for every book you made, it has an impression on what I think. I think the story had zero Nationalism or any bearing about lessons to be learned in real world politics. It was a simple story centered on a group of teens trying to survive, but not very detailed. The good things about the book was there was a lot of planning and plotting towards the teenagers invasion in Wirawee. The mixed makeup of the teenage group made it strange as most teenagers do not take control of their actions. At no stage was there any message that implied that this was a real threat in the Real World that we should guard against in some way if the story became reality.

I think you should have talked about Australian culture more broadly in the book and also talk about the enemies plans. Otherwise it will be like an everyday action movie, where the good guys do not know what is going to happen.

I have no reason against this topic but I was wondering why the enemies had to most likely come from an Asian background.

What I have gained from this novel is, that if you stay together and work as a team you will get more further and will always have someone by yourside for your aid.As in the future war is going to be a more promonent scene, and in situations like this it is best to stay together as a group.

I would normally rate this 9/10 but I would say 8/10 because not enough details were given and the enemies should have had more detail.

Regards Allen
